The most fun museum of Valencia is the Science Museum. In this interactive museum the kids are supposed to do their own scientific experiments, there is a construction site for kids and there are temporary expositions about the human body or the importance of trees and forests. The museum is situated in the City of Arts and Science of the world-famous architect Santiago Calatrava.
The Oceanogràfic is the largest sea aquarium in Europe. You can enjoy yourself here easily for a full day. There are five restaurants and several themed areas that all represent one of the important seas and oceans of the world. You can see dolphins, sharks and even Dori and Nemo fish from the Disney movie with the same name.
Also, in the City of Arts and Science is the Hemisfèric, the IMAX Cinema. The concave cinema screen counts 900 square meters. It shows also digital 3D movies on a 16x8 meters surface. The movies are often documentaries or other movies that show you beautiful nature, like wildlife in the oceans, animation of dinosaurs or a travel through space experience (all movies can be seen in English).
You can visit the impressive Mestalla Football Stadium of Valencia Club de Fútbol. In one hour, you make a tour around the dressing room, the press room, the tunnel, and the holey field. This stadium is one of the oldest in Spain. The stories about the history and everything that happened here give this stadium its charm.
Rent a bike and take your children on a bike ride through the Turia Gardens. It is all flat surface, there is no traffic other than other bikes and playing children, so even the youngest can take their own bike. Or you can take them on a childseat along on your bike. Pack a small picnic so you can have a little snack on the way.
A day at the Beach is always a winner. Children of all ages can enjoy themselves at the beach. The season is not important either. You can take them on a long walk, built a sandcastle, do some sports like beach volley, football, or beach tennis, or take them for a swim. Valencia has beautiful beaches, but just outside of Valencia, you can also find some spectacular beaches.
Gulliver is a large children’s playground based on the story of Johnathan Swift by the name of Gulliver’s Travels. It is the scene where Gulliver washed up ashore after he shipwrecked. Lilliputians tied him up on the beach. Children can climb on his eyebrows and slide of his shoes.
The zoo of Valencia is called the Bioparc. All the animals of Africa are represented here in this parc setting with natural fences of water, rocks, and wood. Every corner has surprisingly different settings with completely different animals. Children will love it here.
This Museo de Soldaditos de Plomo L’Iber or Tin Soldiers Museum is one of its kind. In the center of the barrio of El Carmen in an old private palace where you can find over 95.000 little tin soldiers.
